Orientation Programme
Orientation
On arrival in New Zealand students attend an orientation programme. This is an opportunity to meet the staff and fellow students, receive useful course information, and find out more about life in New Zealand. Activities include tours of the city and an introduction to the various aspects of living in New Zealand covering social services such as health services and counselling that are available to students.
Sightseeing trips
Students are taken on tours of the city to experience and see for themselves the unique lifestyle they can enjoy.
Student trips and social activities
Special activities organised for students include horse riding, sailing, bush walks, ice skating, barbecues and parties.
Multi-cultural festivities
Our students come from many different countries and Concordia ensures that its students are able to enjoy all the festivities that take place around the world in New Zealand.
This year’s Diwali, known as the “Festival of Light,” was celebrated with music and dance and a light meal in the college café.
Each year thousands of Aucklanders attend the Chinese Lantern Festival. The festival is one of the events in a series of Chinese New Year celebrations, and includes food stalls, crafts, fireworks and martial arts displays.
Careers Fair
Concordia recognises that many students need to find employment both for professional development and to help with living expenses. Each year several Careers Fairs are held in Auckland, and students are encouraged to attend these. Students are able to find out from the various exhibitors career choices and potential employers.
